I am Debra Honig, MSW, LCSW, a seasoned, enthusiastic, and authentic pediatric psychotherapist with extensive experience working with children and their families in various settings across the Chicago area. My approach combines humor, empathy, and creativity to help clients navigate life’s expected and unexpected challenges. I embrace an eclectic and warm style, focusing on each client’s strengths and unique qualities. I specialize in areas such as self-esteem, ADHD, coping with illness and life transitions, divorce, grief, loss, anxiety, and mood disorders.
My treatment room is always inviting for children, featuring art materials, action figures, puppets, and games to create a safe and engaging space. I earned my Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from the Jane Addams College of Social Work at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
I use an eclectic treatment approach that integrates expressive therapies, mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and solution-focused brief therapy. My goal is to provide a supportive and creative environment where children and families can grow, heal, and thrive.
