About
Taking this first step of looking for a therapist might feel difficult and overwhelming, yet it is crucial in order to begin to feel better. Fostering your healing will come from our ability to work together and as my client I want you to be an empowered consumer of psychotherapy. I value transparency, honesty and a real dialogue about how effective our work is. I will strive to both support and challenge you as we strengthen your capacity for mindfulness, insight and greater joy in your life. We will collaborate to discover ways in which you are already being resilient against difficulties, challenges and problems.
My style is a direct, solution-focused and strength-based approach. Healing not only comes from making changes but also from affirming what you're already doing right. Often, psychotherapy can provide a safe place to discern which is which. Furthermore, I often provide clients with therapy homework to maximize the work that can be done between sessions.
I provide psychotherapy to adults, adolescents, children, young children 0-5 and families. My work with families includes transitions, trauma, parenting, divorce and adoption. I do EMDR, a treatment for trauma that is highly effective and brief with children, teens and adults. I am a bilingual/bicultural Latina psychologist fluent in Spanish.
