I bring a lifetime of experience in human services, teaching and social work. I describe myself as an advanced generalist. I have identified as part of the LGBTQ+ community since the 1980's. I am single and have two daughters in their mid-thirties. My biological daughter is biracial. I am an ally in the BlackLivesMatter movement: as I see opportunity, I yield my voice to a sister or brother who knows better the challenges and what is needed now.
My adopted daughter was in the Child Protective Services system from age 3-13.
She is living semi-independently but has challenges of course partially due to all her years in state custody. I am an ally for persons with disabilities, and myself have struggled with a trauma background that has shaped and informed my life, my values and my work.
I am licensed as a clinical social worker in New Mexico, Louisiana, Virginia and Florida. I am credentialed with a constantly expanding insurance network, and also participate in Open Path Psychotherapy, a sliding-scale referral service. I strongly believe that access to mental health services is a social justice issue.
