My counseling style is compassionate and direct. I use CBT, Motivational Interviewing, and mindfulness therapies to help resolve negative thoughts and emotions and work towards more realistic and positive self-assessment. It takes a great deal of courage to ask for help and I honor you for taking the first step! Many of us struggle silently with emotional pain, physical discomfort and racing thoughts related to anxiety, or lack of motivation due to depression. I believe everyone has the potential to learn new skills to manage symptoms, improve communication, self-motivate, and regain a sense of self-control.
I specialize in issues related to Anxiety, Depression, Substance Use, Grief, PTSD, Trauma, Military Trauma related to combat, sexual assault or abuse. I have worked in private practice and residential treatment for substance use and PTSD with civilians and active duty service members, and have specialized training in each of these areas.
My job as your therapist is to provide non-judgmental feedback and challenge you to address areas where you feel stuck. It is possible to move towards fully living the life you want!
