Although my primary specialty is the treatment of eating disorders, I have worked with people who have a wide range of issues. My mission is to guide you in creating genuine change. I help you become more fully conscious through a variety of clinical approaches. I work with you to resolve your presenting concerns and issues, while forming a safe and trusting relationship. My goal is to have you take home something from each session that you didn't come in with.
I have been working with those suffering from eating disorders for over 20 years, from a hospital to a private practice setting. I primarily use a cognitive-behavioral approach (CBT), focusing on symptom reduction, underlying issues, and effective coping strategies. I am also trained in EMDR, which is highly effective for the treatment of trauma.
Here at Thrive Psychotherapy and Nutrition of CT, we believe in a team approach for the treatment of eating disorders. We provide a place to receive individual, family, group, and nutritional therapy, as well as psychiatric care (medication management), all under one roof.
