My name is Debbie Chisolm, and I have a Clinical License in Social Work, a Clinical License in Counseling, and a Clinical License in Addictions. I have several approaches I use towards therapy that consist of Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Humanistic Therapy, etc. My focus is geared towards first meeting the person where he/she is at, focusing on the whole person, changing behaviors, feelings, and thoughts, and guiding each one towards meeting their life goals and using the wellness to recovery approach.
All my life since I was about 10 years old, I wanted to help others. In looking at my own family and friends and seeing some struggle, and there being limited help around, I wanted to change that. In doing therapy for a vast number of years, I must say there is no money that can replace the look from someone that you helped, and the person stated." I did it.
My communication style focuses on first and foremost, active listening and respectful communication. In session, you are able to be yourself, be heard, and discuss your issues without prejudice and bias. You will feel valued as a person and have your questions answered.
