Hi there, I'm Deanna, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. As an Asian American woman of immigrant parents, I am passionate about helping diverse marginalized populations, young adults, and teens because I believe these populations are often unseen and struggling with depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, and life transitions. Asian Americans from immigrant families hit close to home! I specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I am solution-focused and may address intergenerational/historical trauma if needed. I also use Dialectical Behavior Therapy techniques.
In our first session, you will be warmly welcomed and fully informed about therapy. Then an assessment of your problem(s) so I can understand how to best help you. We will collaborate on your goals for therapy and discuss the general plan to improve your mental health. If you think we might be a good fit, I encourage you to reach out today.
I communicate with a soft, calming tone. I often use light-hearted humor, and encouragement, and I am genuinely open and direct. I use an active listening style and I like to be reflective in the telehealth room to encourage my client's self-reflection.
