I have a love for helping others to become more authentic, gain control over their lives, and how they're responding to their environments. I graduated from The University of Chicago in 2006. Since this time, I've become a Licensed Independent Social Worker and certified Cognitive Behavioral Therapist with a history of working in mental health agencies, schools, hospitals and private practice settings in the Chicagoland area and North Iowa. I currently specialize in working with depressive disorders, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, trauma, and different types of anxiety disorders.
I've had formal training in several different types of evidence-based therapies, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, and Mindfulness Based Stressed Reduction. I use this, my education and personal experience to help individuals formulate their own plans to better themselves and overcome life's obstacles.
I offer to teach a variety of skills and utilize multiple therapies, emphasizing therapies that fit the current needs and goals of the individual. I'm here for my clients to listen, share knowledge and cheer them on whether they're nailing the goals we've set for them or not. Giving up isn't an option and as long as we don't give up, we'll make progress.
