I am currently pursuing AASECT certification to become a certified sex therapist.
I enjoy working with clients in the polyamorous or ethically non monogamous and or kink community. For clients exploring non monogamy I provide a safe space to explore uncertainties, insecurities, and fears while also celebrating many of the joys this relationship style brings. I also work with many clients who may be questioning their gender or sexual identity. I also work with many clients who have experienced trauma, dissociation, and attachment wounding and family of origin issues.

I have experience working with clients who have been through trauma, are exploring their sexuality and/or gender identity, navigating substance abuse, experiencing grief or loss, and working through relationship challenges.
I believe that my role as a therapist is to create a space where you feel supported, safe, and validated as we navigate challenges together. I will be there beside you as you gain the skills to shape your life the way you envision and work towards your goals. I think that everyone can benefit from therapy, whether it’s short-term to help you through a life transition or longer-term support, I will be here to help and accept you as you are. Many people who are members of the LGBTQ+, kink, or poly communities can feel stigmatized during therapy and I aim to provide a non-judgmental atmosphere for all my clients.

It can feel isolating to struggle with sex or romance given the oft-associated stigma. You don't have to go it alone. We'll work together to help you discover, or rediscover, your authentic self, how to express your needs, wishes, desires, and develop new attitudes and skills that will help you thrive. Some of my specific clinical interests include relationship communication and trust issues, couples desire discrepancies, sexual pain, erectile and ejaculation issues, lack of orgasm, women's and men's sexual identity development, premarital counseling, and clients' growth after sexual trauma.

“Life is slippery. Here, take my hand." Jackson Brown - In times of extraordinary stress, when old issues may be exacerbated, people need a place to feel heard and understood. They may be coping with the loss of a loved one, difficulty with their relationships, the loss of a job, or the isolation and fear of living through a pandemic. As a therapist, I lend an empathic ear and help clients explore and re-wire old issues, so they can become more resilient.

I specialize in Emotionally Focused Therapy and Sex Therapy .
My ideal clients are those who are experiencing difficulties with their relationships and are looking for a compassionate person to validate that what they are experiencing is real and legitimate. I enjoy working with clients who have decided that wherever they are is not where they want to be and today is the day to make change. Therapy is not always easy or fast, but it has the power to shift one from hopeless to joyful for those who are willing to do the hard work.

I specialize in sex therapy , anxiety disorders, and trauma, but have extensive experience working with depression, ADHD, bipolar related disorders, personality disorders, and general life transitions.
I have worked for over a decade with clients across the lifespan. Currently I work with adults and couples. My main goal is to first and foremost get an understanding of what someone is struggling with so I can determine how I can best assist them in their therapy process. I pride myself on my ability to meet people where they are at, build a supportive relationship, and help them work towards achieving their goals. I am currently working towards AASECT certification and obtaining my PhD in Clinical Sexology, so I have a particular interest working with couples and individuals in the areas of sex therapy .

My primary focus is on helping couples and individuals with sexual issues. In working with couples, I find dissatisfaction with partnered sex is often linked to deeper relationship difficulties and the two can be intertwined. In other instances, the therapeutic focus is primarily on enhancing technique and increasing desire rather than improving the relationship. I also work individually with women to eliminate barriers to sexual wellness and increase acceptance. I enjoy working with gay, lesbian, and heterosexual clients and have respect for sexual fluidity and variance in erotic interest.

I specialize in, but am not limited to, mid-life issues for men and women including sexuality , empty nest, health, and lifestyle.
We come to therapy to change our lives which can only be done by changing ourselves. I believe the most effective changes occur when we can experience and examine our behavior in relation to others. In individual therapy you and I will not only identify and try to understnad how your life experiences have shaped your behavior, but how you and I experience that behavior in our relationship. When I work with couples, I focus on your dynamics of intimacy, power imbalances, money, sexuality , and the impact of family and friends on your couple.

I love working with couples and individuals with difficulty in romantic relationships (i.e. sexual issues, communication, infidelity, divorce), adults who come from dysfunctional childhoods, as well as those with anxiety, impulsivity, and addiction. I also enjoy working with those in non-traditional romantic relationships (i.e. ethically non-monogamous, polyamorous). I am LGBTQIA- affirming and sex positive. I work best with clients who are engaged, thoughtful, and motivated for change. My style is empathic and direct, with a sense of humor. I believe strongly in the therapeutic alliance and the client/therapist fit.

I have 20 years of experience working with individuals, couples, and polycules. My book, Great Sex : Mapping Your Desire, is based on a sexual liberation workshop I've offered on campuses and at LGBTQ+ rights conferences in the US and around the world. My clients are usually in therapy but need specialized work on gender, sexuality , identity, and intimacy. Most of us believe there is something 'wrong' with our sexuality -- what we want/don't want, how we connect or fail to connect, what we know or don't know about our desire. In our work together, we discover the power of our sex his/her/theystories and plot a path to pleasure.

I can be most helpful to you if you are interested in growing yourself and your own potential for intimacy and sexuality . Instead of identifying what's "wrong" with you, I focus on your strengths. By balancing your desire for autonomy and your desire for connection, you can increase your capacity for desire and eroticism in intimate sexuality . As an active therapist, I'm willing to challenge you and your partner to develop and grow yourself up.

Sex Therapy

Who is sex therapy for?

Sex problems are common in relationships. Many people want a better sex life and want to feel loved and desired by their partner. It is difficult for couples to resolve sexual problems on their own because people often feel ashamed to talk about their sexual desires fearing they are not normal, when in fact a very broad range of preferences and behaviors are normal. A sex therapist can help clarify this and other matters.

Why do people need sex therapy?

Many people do not know how to talk about their erotic needs or their emotional needs, both of which are addressed in sex therapy. Couples often live with sexual difficulties for years before seeking help, and in that time, partners may experience so much disappointment and alienation that they may fear their problems mean they are incompatible. Once people experience disappointment, it is difficult to find resolution without help.

What happens in sex therapy?

People have many misconceptions about what takes place in sex therapy. First, it is a form of talk therapy in which partners discuss their sexual concerns; it does not involve touching or physical exploration of any kind. Sex therapy typically helps couples get comfortable talking to each other about sex so that, in the privacy of their home life, they can openly discuss their sexual desires and make decisions about what they want to do. Couples are typically assigned activities to do at home that build intimacy skills.

What kinds of problems do sex therapists treat?

Very often, partners differ in their degree of sexual desire and struggle over how often to have sex. Or they may have fights about porn use or have difficulty connecting sexually after one partner is unfaithful. Men may have problems with premature ejaculation. Women may find themselves struggling to become aroused or to achieve an orgasm. Sometimes partners feel like they have lost the sense of attraction to their partner. These are all common issues dealt with in sex therapy.
