Hi everyone! I'm Andromeda, and I’m happy you’re here. Mental health is not a journey we should have to navigate alone, and I believe healing happens best in spaces where we feel seen. My path has been shaped by my passions for mental health and entertainment, allowing me to serve as both a therapist and advocate. I help my clients connect with their inner strength by cultivating self-compassion, exploring trauma, and learning our needs. As a first-generation Ghanaian, Afro-Indigenous therapist, I bring a culturally grounded perspective. My goal is to help clients deepen self-understanding and learn how to meet their needs.

I support teenagers who are navigating big emotions, ongoing worries, or challenges with attention, motivation, and behavior. Many of the teens I work with are neurodivergent, including those with ADHD, anxiety, OCD, or sensory and social differences, and benefit from a space where they feel accepted without judgment. My work focuses on helping teens understand their emotions, build coping and regulation skills, and strengthen confidence they can use at school, at home, and with peers. I also partner with parents, offering practical guidance and tools to support their teen’s growth and independence.

I work with young adults navigating the complexities of independence and attachment, trust and confidence, peer and sibling dynamics, dating and commitment, trauma, school and career transitions, sexual identity and intimacy, and overall well-being. Young adulthood is often a time of rapid growth and uncertainty, and therapy can provide space to make sense of these experiences with greater clarity and intention. I affirm and support clients who identify as BIPOC, AAPI, Latinx, LGBTQ+, and neurodivergent. Together, we identify and implement strategies to manage cognitive, emotional, behavioral, and relational patterns.

In counseling children and adolescents, I prioritize how you relate to others, how you feel, and how you behave. I provide counseling to people experiencing difficulty adjusting to parents’ divorce or separation; maltreatment, bullying or lack of acceptance; isolation and increased loneliness; increased conflicts with parents; and perfectionism and excessively high standards. These experiences can cause my clients to experience an increase in sleep loss due to worry, feeling unhappy or depressed, persistent negative thoughts, feeling distressed, obsessive-compulsive disorder and loss of confidence in themselves.

It can be difficult to navigate life outside of self in your inner world feels unbalanced. An unbalanced inner world tends to affect your day-to-day life, relationships (familial, romantic, or platonic,) careers, and goals. This can feel life-altering when all you crave is peace. Oftentimes, marginalized groups of people are not given the same grace as our counterparts. This is a space to express your innermost thoughts, feelings, and emotions.

I help patients find hope in adversity. I explore a patient's need for external validation. I explore old negative motivators used to inspire achievement-based goals. I teach self-care & self-regulating practices. I model healthy attunement, explore conflict avoidant behaviors, & healthy dependency. Being a highly sensitive person is not a weakness but an empathic strength. I explore guilt, shame inadequacy & fear that causes "analysis paralysis." I analyze unhealthy habits. I teach clients to build trust & reconnect with a traumatic body that no longer trusts.

Native American Therapists
What are the advantages of seeing a Native American therapist?
Therapists are trained to diagnose and treat a wide range of mental health conditions through various forms of talk therapy and behavioral interventions. Building a strong therapeutic relationship is an essential part of feeling supported and understood in care. For many Native American individuals, working with a provider who shares or respects their cultural background can foster a deeper sense of trust and connection in the therapeutic process. Native American therapists may be especially well-equipped to address topics such as historical trauma, intergenerational grief, and cultural identity—factors that can significantly shape the mental health experiences of Native American clients. These providers may also be knowledgeable about and incorporate Indigenous healing traditions, which can be beneficial for clients seeking this approach. Additionally, Native American therapists may be more familiar with community resources, support networks, or other culturally-aligned providers who can offer further support.

How to find a Native American therapist?
Psychology Today’s online directory is a useful tool for finding a Native American therapist. You can filter for providers who identify as Native American or who mention working with Indigenous populations and highlight cultural competence in their profiles. Look for signs such as experience with tribal communities, familiarity with Native traditions, or a focus on trauma-informed care. Depending on your preferences and needs, it may also be important to ask whether a provider offers telehealth, which therapeutic approaches they use, and whether they accept your insurance. If you're unable to find a therapist who personally identifies as Native American, you may also consider providers who have experience working with Native clients or who demonstrate a clear commitment to cultural humility and respect for Native American beliefs and traditions. You might also consider a blended approach—for example, seeing a therapist for talk therapy while also seeing a Native healer or counselor for more culturally-specific support.
