My time sensitive psychotherapy practice is informed by IFS, Sensorimotor, mindfulness, psychodynamic & other modalities.
As a senior therapist, my practice focuses on maintaining psychological health and well being for seniors who might prosper from making psychological adjustments in light of newly emerging age-related obstacles. Some may need to manage declining vitality and declining abilities, or to accept a changing sense of one's physical condition, or to cope with new losses and new fears. For others, troubling thoughts of past losses and traumas may come into heightened focus. Establishing new but vital relationships may become necessary and it may be helpful to forge new roles to enhance the pleasure of this life stage.

I utilize a holistic therapeutic approach, incorporating mindfulness and somatic interventions to tailor the therapy to the specific needs of each client.
Trauma changes us and the way we see the world. In fact it takes things away from us that we really want. Surviving trauma makes clients resilient, but can leave them feeling disconnected from themselves and the world. Their struggles may look like anxiety, depression, avoidance, chronic physical illness, loss of sense of self or grief that does not go away. I am specialized in EMDR trauma therapy and Mindfulness-Holistic Psychotherapy. I work with adults who need support with trauma connected to complex grief, divorce, disruptive family relationships/attachments, sexual trauma, childhood abuse, or other stressful life transitions.

I identify as an ethicist; a Womanist who advocates and practices feminist ideals, cultural humility through continuous learning, bodily integrity, reproductive justice, sex work is work, pacifism by utilizing non-violent resistance techniques. I believe children have rights, whistleblowers are vital in society, I embrace LGBTQ+, Black Lives Matter is factual, and representation matters. I practice mindfulness with the philosophy of ‘margin to center’ action. I embody, advocate, and support activism in action and respect of human rights. Neither ever ends, even when it is inconvenient or uncomfortable. We must remain firmly resolved

My approach is eclectic—though grounded psychodynamic (aka “Talk”) therapy, I blend several modalities into my work, including mindfulness, yoga, cognitive behavioral therapy, and attachment theory.
I work with ages 10+ who are experiencing anxiety, depression, adjustment issues, trauma, CPTSD/PTSD, and grief. I believe what we resist persists, so challenges are best overcome when faced directly with courage and compassion. True healing and change can take time and effort, and I believe deeply in the power of therapy to create a dynamic for growth and change—helping individuals create the selves and lives they hope to live.

With embodied, mindfulness, and experiential approaches, I help people move emotional energy in ways that intellectual approaches cannot.
Are you struggling to find a life after trauma? Do you feel lost in flash-backs, intrusive memories, racing thoughts, stress, low mood, or anxiety? Do you long for a sense of groundedness, home, and safety? I help people recover from trauma by building emotional boundaries, processing what is in the way, and reconnecting with their present moment, their body, and their relationships. Trauma interrupts our creativity, our energy, our flow. I help clients find ways to build a sense of stable home in themselves to better encounter the chaos of life with flexibility and self-trust.

During sessions, I often incorporate a faith-based (Christian) approach alongside strengths-based strategies, offering solution-focused techniques and integrating mindfulness practices.
My mission is to empower and uplift others, help people to recognize their inner strengths, and support them in learning healthy ways to cope with life's stressors. Many people are experiencing elevated rates of anxiety, depression, and feeling exhausted and overwhelmed. As a Licensed Independent Clinician, I have over 15 years of experience serving others who struggle to manage these uncomfortable emotions. I have been blessed with the opportunity to help individuals who were survivors of sexual assault, mental/emotional abuse, individuals who self-harmed, and experienced thoughts of no longer wanting to live in "pain".

I believe integrating mindfulness, the breath, and the body into our work can be a powerful way connect to yourself and support healing from trauma.
Life can be messy, chaotic, and complicated; therapy reminds me of spring cleaning. Similar to spring cleaning, therapy can be slow, overwhelming, & messy. Throughout the therapeutic process, it is my goal to support clients to embrace all the parts of them in healing from trauma. Together, we will work to unpack and find meaning, connection, understanding, and even humor. I work with individuals that have experienced sexual trauma, relational trauma, eating disorders, and struggle with the impacts of trauma. I deeply enjoy working with individuals that want to deepen their connection to self and community.
