The best part about being a therapist is guiding clients in understanding what has informed and shaped them to date and how they can design a future that will meet their needs and confront obstacles along the way. I enjoy helping clients to explore ideas previously overlooked and to discover strengths they did not know they possessed. The first and most important task of any therapist is to listen thoroughly to all aspects of a client's presentation, to engage with the client with curiosity and interest, and to elicit from the client all the feelings and thoughts that come to bear in shaping their world.

Therapy works best when you’re feeling understood. By processing and understanding the events of your life and your reaction to them, we will identify healthy coping strategies to manage stress and strong emotions. Have you experienced a loss that feels overwhelming? Feeling “stuck” or alone in your grief? Together, we can work to help you feel better. Our lives and problems can be more deeply understood through a structured reflection of the past. I use a mix of psychodynamic psychotherapy and cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) to help people notice and be curious about their feelings, thoughts, behaviors.

There are times when things are not going as well as we'd like in our family, social or work relationships, particularly post-Covid. You may feel alone, depressed, anxious, or have conflict or discomfort with those you care about. In my psychotherapy practice I help couples, individuals & families restore their sense of well being and connection. People learn how to be more present and intentional in accordance with their values. Partners learn to be safely available to each other through a dialogue process that teaches more effective listening, deeper understanding and empathy. In person and Telehealth meetings are offered.

My approach is warm, welcomes your spirituality, and is grounded in Mindfulness, Gestalt, IFS, and Somatic Awareness.
If you are feeling stuck, confused, or weighed down, we will work towards a real sense of freedom, internal clarity, and ease. If you feel you don’t have a place in this world or a right to be here, we will journey towards finding a grounded sense of belonging and authenticity, so that you can discover new possibilities for purpose and meaning. If you feel at war with yourself or your body and aren’t sure what you even want or need, we will move towards peace and understanding from the inside out. I have experienced all of these things, and would be honored to walk alongside you in your process of healing and discovery.

After 26 years of practice I see my ideal client as one who is ready for change. Ultimately, life is the method by which we grow. I work with a variety of tools to meet each client where they are. I have faith that we can all meet the challenges within ourselves and in life and find the inner capacity to move forward. My clients have ranged from those healing from a recent or historical trauma to those wanting life coaching. I have a holistic/systemic vision of my clients and enjoy working with body, mind spirit when appropriate.

Given the current political landscape, I'm opening a small access-rate therapy offering: 20 therapy sessions at $70 per session, which is about 42% off my lowest community rate. Working with a DBT-centered, queer, neurodivergent therapist often feels both grounding and empowering. You gain practical, evidence-based tools for navigating intense emotions while being fully seen, respected, and affirmed in your identity. Sessions blend structured DBT skills—such as mindfulness or distress tolerance—with a warm, nonjudgmental space where your identities are understood as integral to your life story, not something to explain or defend.

I enjoy working with individuals and couples who are curious and hungry for more connection to themselves and others in their lives. When you start therapy, I will talk with you about what brings you to therapy, the life you want to create and what you think holds you back. I will reflect with you on how it feels to be with and collaborate with you on your own thriving. You are likely to display the same intra- and inter-personal patterns with me that enhance or impede your progress in your relationships at work and home. Most of my clients start therapy because of depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties and work challenges.

At the core of my work is the belief that inherent goodness and wisdom resides within every individual. Old wounds can sometimes give rise to parts of ourselves that carry pain or take on protective roles that disconnect us from our core self. I see my role as guiding clients to explore and engage with these parts, as they move towards restored trust and reconnection with their truest selves. When we turn toward our pain rather than away from it, and allow our pain to be witnessed in the presence of safety, our bodies remember what we are already born knowing: we heal when we feel seen and supported by another safe human.
