Part of life is figuring out what that means to you.

My specialties include LGBTQ+ and BIPOC communities, attachment work, people living with HIV, gender exploration, sex therapy, trauma, life adjustments, depression/anxiety, perfectionism and other mental health concerns.
Are some of your past coping skills not having the same effect? In our sessions, we will focus on being present with our mind and body. Through this gained awareness, we will co-construct meaningful experiences. Sometimes we may need the space or support to tune into our needs, body and its reactions. Therapy can be a place to learn and cultivate that. I use an integrative approach to counseling and therapy. This way, I tailor make our treatment to meet your goals. I'm trained in LGBTQ+ affirming counseling, CBT, Person Centered, Gestalt and Narrative Therapies.

I have specific experience working with people impacted by disability (their own or a loved one's), people in alternative relationship dynamics, and LGBTQIA+ youth and adults and their families.
Making changes in your life can be exciting, scary or often a mixture of both. You want to have the right support when you are experiencing a life transition such as gender transition; opening, escalating, or de-escalating a relationship; accepting and affirming a diagnosis of neurodivergence; or navigating the diagnosis or progression of a disability or chronic illness in yourself or a loved one. If you are seeking an experienced and passionate mental health professional to explore the emotional impact of LGBTQIA+ identity, polyamory, or disability, I would like to talk to you more about how I can help.

I am a passionate about working with LGBTQ+ and BIPOC folx and I work towards healing the emotional experience and bodies, in all bodies, including all sizes (HAES), genders, and relationship orientations including kink, poly and ethical monogamy.
Satisfaction, joy and self-awareness are key elements to a fulfilling life. Although that seems easier said than done, I believe that we can find these elements with encouraging support and guidance. I am a committed, compassionate therapist who is ready to help you uncover your inner strengths to make the changes you want and live a more gratifying life. I believe that we all take a journey to find ourselves, but it becomes even more difficult when we are burdened by depression, addiction and/or trauma. Finding the right fit can help us get through difficult times, creating positive relationship is paramount to our happiness.

For the past 4 decades plus, I have specialized in LGBTQ issues. I currently focus on gender identity issues and assist my transgender clients with navigating their often challenging journeys. As an "out" cisgender lesbian practitioner, I strive to help my LGBTQ clients travel from a place of shame to pride. Much of our work centers on self- esteem and the ways in which homophobia and transphobia impact so many areas of our lives-including family, career, and our intimate relationships. I love animals and also do veterinary counseling and consulting. My style is interactive and casual. I highly value your confidentiality.

Though I specialize in relationship and couple/marital/romantic concerns, I enjoy working with an array of therapeutic issues including mood and anxiety symptoms; self-esteem; trauma; substance issues; sexual issues; and/or LGBTQ identity concerns.
Our personal difficulties are often a "Catch 22," -- comfortable, familiar patterns of behavior inadvertently keep us in unhealthy/unsatisfactory circumstances or relationships. As your therapist, I aim to help you understand your current problems in the context of your unique life experiences, allowing you to develop insight into how your difficulties developed while growing in ways that get you 'unstuck.' I do this by facilitating conversations about your interpersonal relationships (past and present); early life experiences; what you are thinking and feeling (or may be preventing yourself from feeling); and how you communicate your thoughts, feelings, and needs with others.

As a queer, non-binary, bicultural Palestinian American, I have experience working with LGBTQ+, and second generation immigrants.
Welcome! As you walk through the world, you may find yourself feeling anxious, confused, ashamed, lost, or disconnected to yourself and your culture. Internalized messages of doubt and blame can disempower you from moving forward. It’s difficult to make sense of these experiences, and you are not alone! Together, we’ll work on developing a more compassionate and non-judgmental understanding of how your relationships, culture, and oppressive experiences have shaped your perspectives and behaviors. By reclaiming your narrative, we can forge a path towards meaningful change that's rooted in your values.

Accepting new clients. I understand how difficult it can be to entertain the idea that life can be different. It is my belief that therapy is a space for you to interrogate beliefs, regain a sense of agency, and to rewrite your story. I will work with you to gently explore the origins of beliefs that no longer serve you and use evidenced based therapy to empower you. Additionally, I work with couples and those in ENM relationships to improve communication, repair trust, reduce conflict, and, strengthen bonds. As a Black, gay man, I am especially interested in creating a welcoming space for clients from the LGBTQ+ community.
