We all experience challenging times when we don’t feel like ourselves. We may feel stuck, lost, or experience the same unsatisfying relationships. Engaging in therapy, with the right therapist, can help. Within a supportive and collaborative relationship, I actively work with my clients to better understand themselves and their relationships; to acquire healthy coping strategies; and to achieve an enhanced sense of well-being. I am flexible, tailoring the therapy according to the needs of each client. I bring an integrative approach to psychotherapy that includes insight-oriented work, practical interventions, and cognitive/behavioral techniques, all within a nurturing relationship.

Welcome. At various times in our lives we all end up feeling sad, angry, anxious, or lost. Sometimes we end up in unhealthy patterns: doubting our self-worth, obsessing about the past or the future, lashing out at others, or isolating ourselves. So many of our unhelpful behaviors protect us in the short-term, but leave long-term costs. I'm a clinical social worker and I provide help with these and other issues. The core of my training has been to meet you where you are--mentally and emotionally--and help you find effective techniques to overcome adversity, feel better, and move on with your life.

Welcome! I primarily work with clients who are struggling with life transitions or relational concerns. This may include leaving a faith tradition, gaining or losing a partner, exploring sexuality, dealing with old "stuff," working through identity 'stuff,' or getting unstuck. I work with clients from traditional to alternative and everything between, regardless of gender, sexuality, ethnicity, race, orientation, spirituality or relational preferences. I am committed to a social justice practice of anti-racist and affirming care. I tend to see many clients who have had negative experiences with therapists in the past.

Are you the one everyone counts on? The mom, the partner, the professional who’s expected to hold it all together, even when you feel like you’re falling apart inside? I specialize in working with capable, pulled-together adults- especially women and parents- who are tired of “holding it all together on the outside” while quietly struggling with anxiety, depression, burnout, or emotional overwhelm. You’ve reached the point where you know that neglecting your mental health isn’t sustainable and you're ready for something different.

My goal is to help both individuals and couples become "unstuck' from old patterns and develop the tools to live a more satisfying life. I will help you find ways to cope with life's many challenges, including self-esteem issues, emotional distress, anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, and life transitions. Identifying the origins of your struggles is only one component of therapy. From there, we will work together to develop the skills necessary for you to navigate through these challenges.

I work with clients who are distressed or confused by why they engage in the behaviors they do, whether it's addiction, anger, or relationship difficulties and challenges. I believe this is because my stance is non-judgmental and I genuinely believe that all behavior is rational given past experience or the actual situation, even if it is not helpful in the present. I work to help clients navigate how these behaviors may have arisen, to develop self-compassion, and then to provide support and strategies to do the hard work of adopting new, more helpful behaviors.

I view therapy as an invitation to bring awareness to the here and now. For many of us, we press forward, through, and over difficult feelings when they arise in our daily lives. Often they show up as unwanted thoughts or images. They not only fill us with dread, but we will go to great lengths to avoid them. On the other hand, what if moving toward our feelings actually reduces the influence they have over us, allowing us to attend to the very things we value, thereby creating meaning and purpose in our lives.

You may be exploring polyamory or non-monogamy, strengthening communication, or seeking deeper intimacy and authenticity. Perhaps you’re navigating kink, repairing trust, or untangling shame that keeps you from fully embracing your sexuality. Many of my clients are queer, kinky, or non-monogamous adults who have felt misunderstood in past therapy. They want a therapist who welcomes their identities without judgment, affirms their desires, and helps them create relationships that reflect their values. I work with individuals, couples, and polycules, as well as families navigating polyamorous dynamics.

My specialty is helping individuals to work to remove challenges to achieving satisfaction in their lives. Many times we find ourselves stuck in patterns that are self-defeating but seem difficult to change. These may cause us problems in school and work, as well as in our peer and family relationships, and interfere with the enjoyment of pleasurable activities. These patterns may be due to our early experiences within our families, or as a result of challenges faced in adolescence and adulthood. No matter your age or phase of life, therapy can help.
