Most of us are stuck in our heads, struggling with competing ideologies, worldviews, and internalized (usually critical) voices from our past. Using empathetic active listening and body-focused inquiry, I will work with you to create safe space within which to explore who you are and replace confusion with clarity---a body-based "felt sense" of what's true that becomes an increasingly reliable guide for authentic action.

I'm available most weekdays and in the evenings.
I work with couples who want to rebuild closeness, strengthen their foundation, or navigate challenges with greater connection. Using Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), I help partners recognize the patterns that keep them stuck and build new ways of reaching for one another with honesty and care. I also work with individuals who want to feel more grounded, connected, and purposeful in their lives. Integrating Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), I help clients understand their inner experiences, relate more compassionately to themselves, and take steps towards the life they want to live.

I am available to meet with all clients via secure videoconferencing.
I love my work. I work primarily with women. I find that most women, regardless of their personal histories, complain of feeling stuck - repeating patterns and behaviors that don't make them feel successful or happy. I believe a large part of the problem is that there are parts of themselves they have had to submerge very early in life. Some of my clients have suffered early parental loss, medical trauma, physical or sexual abuse, or a traumatic accident. Many describe parents who loved them, but who were unable to meet their emotional needs in significant ways.

Do you feel anxious, sad, lonely, or isolated? Do you struggle with pain connected to racism, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, or one of the many ways we can be made to feel less than or not enough? Whatever the reason, your decision to seek out therapy is courageous because it is filled with emotional risk. As we build a relationship together, your thoughts, feelings, experiences, fears, and desires will be heard and treated with respect, curiosity, and care. I hope you’ll find a gentle, affirming, and nonjudgmental space where we can better understand what brought you here and how to live a more meaningful life.

The conflict for you is that you are talented and capable, but underneath you are not so sure. You have overcome challenges and survived. Yet there remains self-doubt and anxiety. You are not going to get to where you feel you should be as long as these struggles weigh you down. Are you feeling misunderstood by others or unsure who's right for you? Or maybe unsure of what you really need? Whatever the reasons, it leads you to a familiar road of dissatisfaction, frustration, and sadness.

I believe in the resiliency of people. Whether you face a relational issue, loss of a loved one, trauma, or ongoing mental health concern, I can work with you to create positive change and move you through a healing process by identifying your existing coping skills and building on your strengths and community. I have a collaborative approach-and expect that we will work together to create change. I like to work with adults as well as children and families as I believe that variety makes me a better therapist. When working with children, I work closely with the family.
