I pair the positive resourcing of EMDR with Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) to change unhelpful narratives that are keeping you from recognizing your inherent worth.
Welcome. I’m glad you’re here.
Starting therapy can feel vulnerable. If you’re here, something in you is ready for things to feel different — and that matters.
I work with people who feel stuck, overwhelmed, weighed down by grief, or disconnected from themselves. Together, we create a space where you can slow down, be honest about what’s hurting, and begin to understand the patterns that keep you feeling trapped. My role is to help you make sense of your experiences, build practical emotional skills, and reconnect with the strengths that have carried you through your life so far.

My work with each client is unique, but often includes the following modalities: Attachment focused EMDR for acute traumas as well as chronic relational traumas.
I find a lot of joy in helping teens and adults discover and uncover their truest selves. If you are someone who wants to increase self-compassion, heal from trauma, challenge long held beliefs about yourself or the world, strengthen relationships, process grief and loss, and/or find the inner strength and resources to make desired changes in your life, I might be a good fit for you. I also find it very meaningful to work with people unlearning and healing from diet culture, those taking or considering a GLP-1 metabolic medication and processing the complicated emotions that arise through these choices and the changes that happen.

As both a licensed therapist with over 10 years of EMDR, individual & group experience and a certified spiritual director/companion, I am able to help you both connect more deeply with yourself, improve your mental health, and build a community in a holistic way.
The world is crumbling; can you feel it? Of course you can; you feel things deeply. What I’m curious about is if your own life is following suit? You’re feeling untethered, or perhaps life is stripping you of your identity; you are not who you used to be and not yet sure who you’re becoming? As a Queer therapist (I also see straight people!) and spiritual companion, I like to do things a little differently. At this time in my career, I love working with beloved humans who are bravely journeying through deconstructing their lives, sexuality, identities, religion of origin, and perhaps even spirituality. I currently love using IFS!

I use mindfulness, existential-humanistic, acceptance/commitment, CBT, EMDR, narrative, and Gottman Method techniques to help individuals achieve their desired results.
While we possess many innate tools to cope effectively with adversity, there are many factors that can serve as barriers to achieving and maintaining a healthy balance in life. Whether these barriers relate to internal processes or external circumstances, I believe that it is often beneficial for us to practice vocalizing our experience to others. Doing so can serve as a protective factor, helping us to cope more effectively with any radical internal monologues that may pop up from time to time.

Who is EMDR for?
EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.
Why do people need EMDR?
People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.
What problems does EMDR treat?
First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.
What happens in EMDR therapy?
First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
