Neuropsychological evaluations are often helpful in determining the presence and/or extent of problems with thinking abilities, such as those occurring as a result of traumatic brain injury, stroke, dementia, ADHD, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, epilepsy, cancer, depression, anxiety, and more.
Do you or your family worry about your thinking abilities? Have you always wondered whether your diagnosis is accurate or wished that you had a more comprehensive evaluation of your symptoms? I perform neuropsychological and psychological evaluations that integrate various cognitive and emotional traits into a personalized and thorough evaluation. I regularly perform forensic neuropsychological and psychological evaluations for the court system. As a board certified neuropsychologist, I often perform cognitive testing to assess skills such as intelligence, attention, processing speed, executive functioning, language, and memory.

Looking for a new therapist can be daunting and time consuming. I aim to simplify this process for you. No one therapeutic approach comes close to approaching the complexity inside of you and the world around us. I specialize & have published on the treatment of Trauma, utilize EMDR and provide a psychoanalytic relational frame. In my work, I have found the mind is often divided against itself. We are of many minds and contradictory motives. There is no one propriety therapy that has discovered this or treats our fundamental nature.

Many of my clients are thoughtful and self-aware but still feel stuck, even when they know what should help I work with individuals dealing with anxiety, burnout, ADHD, autism, and life transitions like career shifts, relationship changes, and self-esteem.
Here's how it works: we talk, I listen for patterns, and we figure out what's getting in the way. I'll share resources, book recommendations, and approaches other client have found hepful. I'll ask real questions and push back when it's useful. I draw primarily on ACT, Motivational Interviewing, CBT, and mindfulness-based research.

I am a holistic psychotherapist treating people who have a combination of trauma, ADHD, and Anxiety.
You may be dealing with ongoing anxiety, a critical inner voice, or thoughts that loop in a way that’s difficult to settle. Sometimes, even ordinary situations can feel like too much, leading to a freeze response or a sense of disconnection from your body. For people who are neurodivergent or have experienced trauma, these responses are understandable—they reflect your nervous system’s effort to keep you safe, not a flaw or failure. Through a trauma-informed approach, we’ll move at a gentle pace to support your system in finding more steadiness, safety, and ease.

I specialize in queer and neurodivergent clients, including folx on the Autism spectrum and/or who have ADHD.
Are you navigating the intersection of being queer and neurodivergent in a world that doesn’t seem to have been built for you? Learning to love all the parts of yourself is so much more challenging when you’re surrounded by systems and structures that aren’t affirming or flexible. Many of us in these communities navigate issues such as sensory sensitivity, relationship struggles, chronic dysregulation, and executive dysfunction. As a queer neurodivergent person, I understand the complexities and unique challenges you may face. Compassion is at the center of my approach.

When should I seek treatment for ADHD?
You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.

How does treatment for ADHD work?
Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioral therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.

Are there specific medications for ADHD?
Medications to treat ADHD are generally stimulants, the most common are Adderall and Ritalin. There are two categories of stimulants: Amphetamines include Adderall, Dyanavel, Vyvanse, and Dexedrine, and methylphenidates include Ritalin, Concerta, Daytrana, Focalin, Quillichew, Quillivant, and Metadate. Non-stimulants and antidepressants may be used as an alternative if stimulants aren’t effective or viable for a particular patient.

How long does treatment for ADHD take?
It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
