My highest priority as a therapist is to cultivate a space for you as a client to feel safe, supported, and unconditionally accepted, as this lays the foundation for exploration and growth. My approach is trauma and person-centered, while incorporating cognitive-behavioral and sensorimotor interventions. This allows for us to focus on the interplay between your thought life, emotional experiences, and behavioral reactions, and target what solutions are most effective and appropriate for you. I also incorporate mindfulness techniques to ground you both in the here and now of the session.

We all feel stuck at times. I believe this experience can result from an unhelpful pattern developed over time, and in addition to feeling lost or unfulfilled, we may find ourselves having emotional or behavioral concerns. From a non-judgmental space, I offer a supportive environment to connect while we work together to uncover the patterns that may contribute to pain and problems in your daily life. It is my aim to help illuminate different ways of being so that you may experience less pain, more satisfaction, and a greater quality of life.

You lay in bed, replaying the day’s events on a loop. Dissecting every interaction, examining every mistake under a microscope. On the surface, it looks like you have it all together, but deep-down you feel like an imposter, struggling to manage your emotions. Working so hard to be perfect and please everyone, never feeling like you're good enough or doing enough. You can’t sleep. You're snapping more easily, numbing or zoning out to relax, feeling unfulfilled and exhausted. You’ve turned into someone you don’t like or recognize. You want desperately to make some change, but you don’t know how.

If you are feeling stressed, anxious, or overwhelmed, therapy can be a safe, non-judgmental, space to process your emotions and gain clarity on what might be contributing to your distress. I would seek to understand your unique situation and perspective, and we would uncover thinking and behavior patterns getting in your way. Whether it's having the tools and skills to cope with daily stressors, managing anxiety, improving relationships, increasing your self-confidence, to living a more purpose-driven life, together, we would develop customized strategies to help meet your desired outcome.

It is normal to be an imperfect being. Everyone has struggles, low moments, or even sometimes have to divert off course due to unexpected life events. But when it's your own thoughts and feelings that are impeding your ability to achieve what you define as "satisfaction" in life- you must take the time to stop, reflect, and possibly change either your approach or alter your perspective. Feel free to book your first session by contacting my team, 1.833.968.8255 or self-scheduling a consultation. https://www.timetrade.com/book/3FLKG

Women's Issues Therapists
How do you encourage a woman to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual may be suffering, and what effects it has on them, should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
How can women prepare for therapy?
Women can prepare for therapy by being willing to talk about their past experiences and their private thoughts. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. Between sessions, it can be useful to write down notes about their reaction to a given event or how they felt at a particular time.
How long does therapy for women’s issues often last?
As with any type of therapy, sessions depend on the individual and the challenges they face. Therapy types like Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Prolonged exposure therapy (PET), and Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. In some cases, such as for women with eating disorders, residential treatment may be recommended for an individual who is judged to be at high risk of self-harm. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.
How can women overcome stigma around specific challenges in order to seek therapy?
Women dealing with domestic abuse, sexual assault, eating disorders, and any other number of troubles may feel a stigma around seeking help. It’s important to remember that these issues are not uncommon and there is no shame in getting help for them. Therapy is confidential, and women can talk about their experiences without fear of judgment. Seeking therapy can be a courageous and liberating act, and an important step toward healing and recovery.
