The clients I enjoy working with the most are teens, adults, couples, and families with identities that are often seen as outside of the “typical”: gender-expansive, queer , blended families, and formerly religious. They are seeking a safe space to process challenges, practice acceptance, gain strength, and secure support, without having to explain their identity, family dynamic, or risk be criticized because of it.

I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) serving children, adolescents, individuals, couples, college/graduate students, and LGBTQ clients. I have specialized in providing services to adolescents and their families for more than 25 years. I am licensed in Maryland and the District of Columbia. I have been practicing as a Mental Health Clinician for 14 years providing services in group homes, communities, educational, and private practice settings. At Peace of Mind Therapy, LLC, we offer services by other Licensed Professional Counselors or Licensed Social Workers that are Qualified, Capable, & Culturally Competent.

While I work with clients of all ages in any stage of life, my specialties include teen and family LGBTQIA issues, prenatal/postpartum challenges and working with women who feel “stuck.”

My primary focus is on helping couples and individuals with sexual issues. In working with couples, I find dissatisfaction with partnered sex is often linked to deeper relationship difficulties and the two can be intertwined. In other instances, the therapeutic focus is primarily on enhancing technique and increasing desire rather than improving the relationship. I also work individually with women to eliminate barriers to sexual wellness and increase acceptance. I enjoy working with gay , lesbian , and heterosexual clients and have respect for sexual fluidity and variance in erotic interest.

Psychotherapy can help you make sense of complicated feelings, gain insight into relational patterns, and begin to move forward in areas of your life where you feel stuck. My focus is to help you untangle struggles, set meaningful goals, revise problematic narratives about yourself, and re-orient you toward your values. I specialize in working with trauma, anxiety, depression and relationship issues. I help clients gain insight into what is getting in their way and to develop healthier coping strategies. I also work extensively with those struggling with addictions, including alcoholism and sexual addictions and compulsive internet pornography use. I have successfully helped break the interference of addictions and compulsions to lead healthier, more productive lives. In addition, I often work with spouses/partners who are struggling with the impact (and trauma) of these addictions on themselves and their relationships
