As a Psychoanalyst and Psychotherapist, my expertise is working with adults experiencing depression and anxiety stemming from feelings of
anger
and sadness often related to loss. Issues of self esteem can result in one feeling left out and isolated from others. Hard work in Individual Psychotherapy or Psychoanalysis can bring an acute awareness of how unconscious life is causing one to repeat painful dynamics. What a relief it is to get to know everything about the most important person in the world, yourself, and create balance and contentment.

, low self esteem, compulsive or impulsive behaviors, or relationship difficulties. By establishing more effective coping skills and responses, positive changes can develop and lead to a greater sense of fulfillment. What's wrong with this relationship? The same problems keep on repeating time after time. So what does a study of psychology reveal? A well-trained and experienced psychotherapist can help to shine a light into the dark unconscious places which shroud the mysteries. This helps to bring the issues into consciousness, and once there, allows you to work with them. This work involves change. There may be many underlying issues including: mental states of anxiety and depression, an addiction,
anger
, lack of trust, various stressors, poor communication, extended family interferences, and more.

People seek psychotherapy feeling unhappy or helpless to bring about change in their life or fulfill their dreams. Patients are overcome with symptoms of depression, anxiety, eating disorders, substance abuse or other problems, which in reality are unconscious defenses, blocking repressed feelings about something that went wrong, often in childhood, which is not yet resolved. These defenses once were adaptive, by protecting and helping them survive, but are no longer effective. I help people work through their underlying grief and face their feelings (sadness,
anger
, disappointment, yearning, powerlessness) surrounding trauma or loss, enabling them to engage in more free, authentic, satisfying lives.

We all go through difficult times in life when we feel stressed or unfulfilled. Sometimes we are able to manage challenges on our own and other times it can be beneficial to talk to a professional. It takes courage to reach out for support. You may be struggling with anxiety, perfectionism, or low self-esteem. Therapy can help you manage intense emotions, feel more confident, foster deeper connections in relationships, and thrive in your academic or career pursuits. With a non-judgmental and caring listener, you can overcome obstacles and accomplish the changes you want to see.

At times, we struggle through life’s challenges, perhaps feeling stuck or unsure of the path forward. Maybe you’re going through a stressful transition, burdened by emotional pain, or just have an inkling that life isn’t going “right.” Psychotherapy can help you navigate life’s difficulties and cope more effectively. My focus is to understand your concerns, help you consider underlying causes, work on making better choices and increase your sense of control over unwanted behaviors and thoughts. Regardless of the intensity, severity, and frequency of your concerns, nothing is too small or too big to benefit from psychotherapy.

Thank you for visiting my profile. My apologies, at this time I am NOT accepting new clients. There are times in life in which we all need some help. It can also be difficult to find someone who understands the struggles and situations you face. The decision to seek therapy can be stressful but it is a healthy indicator that you are ready to take the first step to a balanced life.

I work with clients from a wide variety of backgrounds, who have all come to a shared realization: that their way of living is no longer working for them. Whether they are struggling with addiction or depression or find themselves experiencing relationship difficulties, they all aspire to something new; something more. Together we identify the nature of their particular dissatisfaction, discover how they got there, and develop a more desirable and sustainable reality. I believe that my role is to be a nonjudgmental companion to my clients on their unique journey of self-discovery and profound change.

Anger Management Therapists
How long does therapy take for anger management?
Treatment duration depends on the person’s specific challenges and circumstances. There are treatments for anger problems that are shorter and more goal-oriented, like cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), which can last weeks to months. Others, like dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) may last between six months and a year, while a more intensive treatment, like psychodynamic therapy, is open-ended, and clients may see their therapist for a year or longer.
How do you know if you need therapy for anger management?
Everyone gets mad from time to time. But when angry outbursts become frequent and cause damage to relationships, whether at home or in the office, it may be a good time to look into therapy. A therapist can assess where a client’s anger may be coming from, suggest strategies for averting angry outbursts, and help a client create a plan to become a calmer version of themselves.
Is there medication for anger management?
Medications do exist that help people mitigate the feeling of anger, but these are reserved for people with anger-related psychiatric disorders, such as intermittent explosive disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, or in some cases borderline personality disorder. In these cases, antidepressant medications may be prescribed to help with the client’s symptoms. In most cases of anger management, however, talk therapy is the recommended treatment, along with lifestyle changes where relevant.
What’s the best way to encourage someone to seek help for anger issues?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either themselves or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
