I work with a wide range of clients from a variety of cultural backgrounds in person and remotely. Clients learn to reduce stress and work with their feelings in ways that lead to personal growth and development. Mindfulness, deep breathing body awareness and Jungian dream work are used to reduce anxiety, depression, excessive self-criticism, perfectionism, detachment and emotional flooding. These problematic feelings can lead to growth, greater empathy for self and others as well as greater kindness towards others in their life when worked with creatively in psychotherapy. A more positive and secure sense of self will develop.

Beginning therapy can feel like a big step, but it’s often the first toward meaningful insight and lasting personal growth. We understand that therapy is not a one-size-fits-all process. Our approach is tailored to you—whether you’re working through past experiences, navigating present challenges, or seeking greater balance in your life. You don’t have to do it alone. Our goal is to create a safe, supportive, and compassionate environment where you feel comfortable sharing openly and working toward change.

I am certified in anxiety, depression, and trauma (EMDR). I am also a relationship expert with a PhD in marriage and family therapy and a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW-S, LICSW). I have over 20 years of experience providing therapy to individuals, couples, groups, and families. I'm the author of the relationship survival guide- “Hate My Marriage”. Many of my clients choose alternative methods for dealing with anxiety and depression instead of prescription medication. I am also a certified herbalist and a practitioner of yoga. I'm not just EMDR "trained", but also certified with advanced hours in trauma.

Something’s missing. Or not working. It’s not something obvious— you have a good job, you have a life. But there’s a longing for deeper connections, more fulfillment, a sense of satisfaction that feels elusive. You’ve journaled, read books, listened to podcasts, talked to Claude, meditated. You’ve genuinely tried to figure it out. Here are some things you know: you’ve always picked up on dynamics. You’re a magnet for people who need taking care of but at work & in life. You are actually great at helping everyone else at this stuff but you really struggle to figure your own stuff out.

Sleep or Insomnia Therapists
How effective is treatment for insomnia?
The most effective treatments for insomnia are behavioral techniques that reduce anxiety, including anxiety about falling asleep, and allow the body’s natural cycles to be recalibrated. The most common treatment is cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I), which researchers have found to be more useful than medication, with rates of success as high as 80 percent.

Are there specific medications for sleep problems?
There are many medications, both over-the-counter and prescription that treat sleep problems. Supplements such as melatonin are popular and may help, though there is little evidence that it is more effective than a placebo. Prescription medications such as zolpidem are sometimes prescribed.

Are there natural treatments for sleep problems?
There are many natural treatments for everyday sleep problems. Reducing blue-light emitting screens, setting a regular bedtime, regular exercise, reducing caffeine and nicotine consumption, and keeping the bedroom dark and cool at night are all lifestyle changes that can help those who struggle with sleep but may not reach the level of an insomnia diagnosis.

What’s the difference between having trouble falling asleep and insomnia?
Life events, stress, and anxiety can lead to sleepless nights for everyone from time to time. To be diagnosed with insomnia, a patient must experience trouble falling asleep, trouble remaining asleep, waking up too early, or non-restorative sleep at least three nights per week for at least one month. Sleep problems affect one-third to one-half of the population, while chronic insomnia affects about 10 to 15 percent of people.
