People come to me when they are seeking meaningful change. I've been a practicing, licensed therapist for 15+ years, beginning in community-based programs where I developed a deep understanding of suffering in many forms. My psychoanalytic training (6 years of education, supervision and my own intensive therapy) taught me the inevitability of pain in human experience and the potential for growth. In my private practice, I work with people suffering from anxiety, fear, depression, shame, grief and unresolved trauma. I've found that it's often the ways we try to solve our emotional "problems" that end up causing ongoing pain.
Research shows that change happens in relationships - that the quality of the therapeutic relationship is significantly more important than modality. I am a Relational Psychoanalyst, trained in Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR) and ASCH Hypnosis. I teach for various psychoanalytic institutes, contribute to peer reviewed journals and supervise newer therapists.

Transforming Trauma: Brain, Body, Art and Soul is a therapy experience that explores somatic awareness and trauma processing through imagination and creativity to support integration of frozen shock, sensation and sensorimotor defensive postures and patterns. Participants will engage in 4 individual Deep Brain Reorienting sessions (a cutting edge neuroscience PET scan based trauma treatment) and 4 small group reflection sessions. Participants will use simple creative materials of their choice (writing, drawing, painting, etc) to express and transform what emerges. Creative projects do not need to be shared with the group.
