Psychotherapy can bring light to darkness, hope to fear, and empowerment to stuck-places that weigh on us. I understand my role as your therapist as being a co-journeyer in your path through healing into a healthier, fulfilling life. My style focuses on reflective-empathetic listening to promote self-acceptance and awareness; cognitive flexibility and experimenting with new choices; and the affirmation of strengths. I have specialized experience with eating disorders, body image (HAES), and the effect of loved ones' addictions/alcoholism. I also value how culture, class, education, and power differences affect close relationships.
My PhD is in Counselor Education and Supervision with a specialization in integrating religion and/or spirituality into counseling from the lens of the psychology of religion and spirituality. I enjoy working with people of faith and understand the stigma often felt. I also enjoy working with people seeking spirituality as they heal from emotional wounds.

Beyond & Within the Body: Body Image Support Group
This small group will support women (30 yrs +) to understand the role their body image plays in their emotional world, to practice being present to their bodies, and to grow in treating themselves and their bodies with care. Consider joining if you are hoping to restore a sense of yourself that is not reliant on size, hoping to feel comfortable in your skin, and hoping to be free from body monitoring and checking so you can enjoy your life. All people who identify as women of any shape, size, color, or creed are welcome! {Active w/ 2 openings; telehealth only}
