I specialize in working with individuals who are seeking change in their life. Making changes, whether in the way we think or the way we behave, can be a very challenging, difficult, and uncomfortable transition. However, it is in meeting these challenges, and making these changes, that growth and empowerment occurs. My strength is in working with individuals who are dealing with chronic childhood abuse or neglect, depression, anxiety, and other mood disorders. Equally, my other areas of interest include addictions, (especially with drugs and alcohol), health and wellness, mindfulness meditation skills training, and life coaching.
Dr Parks holds the designation of DCMHS with the American Mental Health Counselors Association, in Substance Abuse and Co-occurring disorders, is a Heartmath biofeedback practitioner, and has training in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction. She is licensed to practice in Massachusetts and Louisiana. She is also a Massachusetts Certified Clinical Supervisor.
Dawn is experienced in traditional and holistic techniques, working with each individual in identifying and reaching realistic life goals, navigating through challenging or difficult situations, and in developing a sense of inner calm and well-being. Her approach integrates physical, psychological, and spiritual components of health.
