I am Dawn Knight, a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC). My approach is person-centered, collaborative, and strength-based. My focus areas are individuals dealing with depression, anxiety, PTSD, and other diagnoses that may cause them to feel stuck overcoming and managing certain areas in their life. The most common approaches that are used are person-centered, brief, solution-focused, and strength-based. Still, I always tailor my approach to the individual to create a unique experience in treatment.
The types of clients I usually provide treatment to are high-functioning adults who have struggles with depression, anxiety, substance use, and PTSD.
As a therapist, my aim is to create a warm, safe, and non-judgmental environment where the client can feel comfortable disclosing parts of themselves they do not typically share with others, which will allow them to invest in their treatment. My goal is for clients to feel heard and understood as well as to get a unique therapeutic experience.
