Most clients arrive for therapy struggling with adjustment issues, mood regulation, substance use, or family dynamics issues. The goal is always to effect change that is permanent. When change is not possible, the focus shifts to better managing or coping with the struggles. This is accomplished by working collaboratively helping the clients move from where they are to where they need to be.
The client provides therapeutic interventions gained from nearly two decades of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. The therapist encourages participation, motivation, and commitment from the client; and collaboratively they develop treatment plan specific to the client.
While the struggles for change in the client are ongoing, there is always some measure of brokenness in the life of each person. It is not a question of if we are broken, but how do we manage life being broken. With no one general answer for all of us, there is the reality that we can live and work together through the brokenness.
