I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) and a certified sexual addiction therapist (CSAT). I am also a committed Christian. My approach is create a warm, relaxed atmosphere with an emphasis on building a strong collaborative therapeutic relationship. I believe that a strong client/counselor relationship is an important element in the counseling process. As a Christian, I believe that faith and a personal relationship with God is an incredible source of strength, comfort and guidance. As a counselor, I work to combine faith and standard treatment modalities in accordance with each client's needs and beliefs.
I am experienced in working with adults encountering various life altering issues. This includes areas such as sexual and chemical addiction, anxiety, depression, stress management, co-dependency and sexual/physical/emotional abuse. I have completed EMDR basic training for use in trauma related issues.
I am a disabled veteran who is visually impaired. As such, I believe I bring a unique understanding and sense of compassion and empathy for people who are dealing with difficult and sometimes traumatic life altering situations.
