My name is David Troy Whiteman, and I’ve been a LPC since 1999. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to work with people from many different backgrounds and life experiences. I genuinely enjoy helping individuals learn new ways to improve their lives and move toward greater fulfillment. I believe people already have strengths within them, and I’m passionate about helping clients recognize those strengths and reach their full potential.
My approach to therapy is curious, thoughtful, and analytical. I work collaboratively with clients to better understand their thought patterns, behaviors, and emotional responses. By exploring how these pieces connect, we’re able to identify what’s getting in the way and develop practical, strengths-based solutions that support meaningful and lasting change.

Anger Management Education
The focus of this group is understanding anger, how it is impacted by core beliefs, and how anger can be "built up" over time. Concepts that are taught include the anger cycle, specific roles in relationships, depersonalizing, the concept of control, the impact of anger on others, and the different "costs" of anger. There is also education about how thinking impacts anger and specific solutions to managing anger. Class participation is highly encouraged and participant responses are documented on a white board. The class size ranges from 2 to 8 participants.
