I believe in focusing on behaviors. We are creatures whose habits arise/evolve for many reasons. People often come to therapy to work on changing behaviors that aren't working. Since behaviors often contain deep meaning, part of therapy involves exploring beliefs/thoughts around habits that aren't working.
