Seeking counseling can be difficult to do and lends itself to being vulnerable in front of someone you do not know. An initial goal of mine is building comfort between myself and the client so that they can speak about the things that they struggle with. Only when the client can feel this level of comfort and safety can the best work be done. I work to get each client from where they are when meeting for the first time, to where they ultimately want to be.
