My name is Dr. David Shepard, and I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist based in California, and I work with clients statewide via telehealth. I am also a Certified Sex Therapy Informed Professional, and a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional. I work with adults and specialize in anxiety, depression, anger issues, relationship challenges, intimacy/sexual health, life transitions, sexuality/LGBTQ+, and identity/self-esteem issues. My therapeutic approach is integrative, person-centered, multicultural focused, collaborative, and strength based.
When it comes to therapy, I like to meet people where they are at, utilizing evidence-based practices, and tailoring therapy to each individual with respect to their cultural backgrounds, and their intersecting identities that they bring into the therapeutic relationship.
I frequently use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy to help support clients reach their life therapy goals. I work collaboratively with clients to identify goals that they want to achieve in therapy.
