About
The earliest known root of the English word "patient" is a Latin verb meaning "to suffer". Suffering comes in many different forms. It can be expressed in relationships, in the way we interpret events in the world, in "disorders" and "syndromes", and often, in difficult to define moments, where we know something is not right. There are often roots to suffering that can be uncovered and understood and can help us to know ourselves better, to get in touch with what is truly alive in ourselves and in the world around us. Therapy can help us resolve some suffering and bear inevitable sufferings that can feel impossible to tolerate.
I am committed to my work as a psychotherapist. I received my Master's Degree from the University of Vermont and was a student member of the Vermont Psychoanalytic Study Group. I have participated in a number of trainings related to attachment, child development, and psychodynamic and psychoanalytic therapies.
I feel strongly that this process can, with diligence and commitment from the parties involved, increase one's self-esteem and resilience in durable and lasting ways. If you feel you suffer, in any way, and would like to live a richer and more fulfilling life, I encourage you to reach out to me to see if working together might feel like a good fit.
