I provide individual counseling using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Trauma Focused CBT (TF-CBT), Solution Focused Brief Counseling (SFBC), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Substance Abuse Counseling to help clients cope more effectively with their anxiety, depression, substance abuse, mood swings, anger, relationships, trauma, grief and life disappointments. The primary goal is to provide trauma-informed and strength-based clinical treatment that appreciates your developmental, social, and cultural life experiences.
The first session with me (or any therapist) will be an intake/behavioral health assessment to get acquainted and learn what areas of your life that you want to improve upon. There are normally brief questionnaires about anxiety and depression that are sent to you ahead of the session.
I have seen client in counseling/therapy for 35 years in multiple settings. I am comfortable talking with clients from all walks of life. I am a National Certified Counselor, an Approved Clinical Supervisor, and I am also a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional.
