I am a Clinical Psychologist with over 25 years experience in the mental health field. I've been on the faculty of the Mount Sinai School of Medicine for over 20 years, and served as the Director of Training of the medical school's Clinical Psychology Internship program, where I taught and supervised psychotherapy. Over the years, I have practiced a wide range of therapy approaches, and have integrated the methods that have been most effective. I strive to provide guidance, empathy and clear understanding, and bring focus to help clients understand and work through problematic patterns of thinking and feeling.
I help my clients to develop increased self-acceptance, reclaim their natural empowerment and confidence, and find clarity and resource to change stuck, maladaptive patterns. Problems that I have helped clients overcome include anxiety, depression, excessive guilt and shame, trauma, relationship conflicts, poor self-esteem, & emotional numbing & instability.
In addition to professional training and experience, I have been involved in meditation training for over 30 years, through which I have developed a direct understanding of cognitive and emotional mindfulness techniques. This experiential knowledge has helped me to better assist clients in developing their capacities for awareness and change.
