I like to come at therapy kind of like I would a drummer at a jam session. I'm there to find a groove with another voice. I want to communicate with you and help you to open up and learn to express yourself. We will seek understanding first and then we will find a way to encourage healing and growth that is unique to you and builds a stronger identity. I am strengths-based and I like to find existing skills to help a client build a new way of thinking and interacting with their body. This is also a very effective way of beginning the process of healing symptoms of PTSD in conjunction with other evidence based trauma treatments.

Sometimes you have to start from a place of emptiness because that means you are aware of your own existential needs. From that nihilism you can learn to know yourself and your community. You start to take risks through healthy dependence and informed, practiced independence.
I know what its like to feel disconnected, unable to trust, and preoccupied with traumas that I want to leave, but which will not leave me. Therapy often starts with relearning and practicing trust and acceptance. From a place of safety we change your relationship with your trauma. We can find hope and meaning where you are or where you are going.
