My work is focused on all types of addictive behaviors, especially the use and abuse of substances. An Addiction is simply the use of something outside of ourselves to change the way we feel inside. I help individuals cope with their Addiction and Co-Occurring Disorders by using an eclectic array of theories. CBT and EMDR are extremely effective in treating addiction disorders, but I use whatever techniques are required to help individuals overcome their addiction and face the underlying issues that are being medicated by their behaviors. I received a Masters in Community and Addictions Counseling from William & Mary in 2000.
I've worked as a full-time therapist at the Farley Center, working in both the Thirty-Day and Long-Term Treatment Programs, Program Manager/Director at Region Ten’s Dual Recovery Center (DRC) and Director of the Mohr Center. I am currently Clinical Director at Orchard Mountain Recovery IOP where I facilitate Group Therapy and conduct Clinical Assessments.
My Private Practice is designed to help individuals who have completed Substance Use Treatment or who do not feel like they are ready to enter a treatment program. I also work with family members of addicted individuals. My specialty is Addiction with an emphasis on Relapse Prevention, Recovery Coping Skills and helping clients with Dual Diagnosis.

Group Therapy at Orchard Mountain Recovery
This Process Group begins with a check-in and a guided meditation. If a client asks for "group time" the focus shifts to this issue and support and feedback are given by the group and therapist. If no client issues are pressing, an educational, coping or skill building topic is introduced and discussed. This Group is part of Orchard Mountain's Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP).
