I did my undergraduate work at Boston University and received my Masters in Social Work and Public Health from the University of South Carolina. I have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, (LCSW), for over 25 years. I draw upon a wide variety of lived experiences, from being a Peace Corps volunteer in the Dominican Republic to serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. I work primarily with clients experiencing depression, anxiety and the effects of trauma.
I use a strength-based approach utilizing psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral techniques. I am also certified in EMDR, (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing).
My main goals are to provide services that help to improve mental health, physical health, and personal growth. I offer a safe and supportive environment so that clients might gain insight as well as learn skills to live the kind of lives they envision for themselves.
