My name is David Kim, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) based in San Diego, California and working with clients statewide via telehealth. I enjoy working with individuals and couples and specialize in anxiety, depression, stress, and relational/marital issues. My therapeutic style and approach is a good fit for young adults, individuals, and couples who may be struggling with the challenges of life, mental health well-being, and relational/marital issues for couples.
My approach to therapy varies based on the needs of each client I work with. I usually use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Client Centered Therapy, as both modalities help client and I have a shared understanding and approach to client's treatment goals.
I decided to become a therapist because I have always enjoyed helping those around me. Whether it was through peer counseling in school, volunteering in my community, or being a trusted and loyal friend, I have always naturally been drawn to helping others through difficult times. It's a blessing being part of individuals walk through their life journey.
