Are you having difficulty managing relationships or emotions? Are anxiety, depression, hurt feelings or anger barriers to connecting with others? Do you have an unkind, inner critic? Using a therapeutic approach that is supportive, and interactive, I have been providing psychological treatment to individuals and couples for over 30 years. Significant areas of my practice include anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder. In addition to dealing with the immediate problem that brings someone to psychotherapy I address underlying issues, as well as issues that emerge from changes when life itself intervenes.
Our initial work together will have two objectives. First, to make an effective treatment plan, and determining whether to delve into difficult emotions or find ways to manage them. I will be your guide in this aspect of our work.
Secondly, to plan a course of therapy that is safe and non-threatening. Difficult emotions are often avoided because they're painful and frightening. You will guide me in establishing our pace and direction in approaching difficult emotions without being overwhelmed by them.
