David Gilbreath Barton is not currently accepting new clients.
I see clients who are entering therapy for a wide variety of reasons, including dealing with grief, anxiety, depression, and complications from psychological trauma. My first task in working with you will be to create a warm, safe environment where you can re-discover your most authentic self. In our sessions we will explore your hopes, goals, and dreams. We will also tend to the psychological wounds that have been causing so much pain. My orientation to psychotherapy is based on the simple understanding that the mind, like the body, will heal itself if we create the right conditions for change to occur.
I have a broad background in psychology, including formal, intensive study in Jungian theory and practice. I am trained in psychodynamics, dream work, trauma-informed psychotherapy, and Emotionally Focused Therapy for couples. My history as a former tenured professor and director of a psychology institute is fully integrated into my practice.
My first priority is to create a safe, comfortable environment where you can encounter the change you seek. If you would like to find out more about me (including what you can expect from our sessions together), please visit my website. Or simply call for a free, initial telephone consultation to see if we're a good fit.
