I see clients who are entering psychotherapy for a wide variety of reasons, including dealing with grief, anxiety, depression, disappointment, and complications from trauma. I see psychotherapy as a collaboration, a mutual effort towards healing and psychological development, as well as a search, sometimes desperate, for vitality, renewal and meaning. My orientation to psychotherapy is based on the simple understanding that the psyche, like the body, will heal itself if we create the right conditions for change to occur.
I have an eclectic psychological background, including extensive training in the Jungian tradition. I am trained to work with the unconscious, with dreams, images, and symbols, but my approach varies according to the unique situation of the individual. My history as a tenured professor and director of a psychology institute is fully integrated into my work.
If you would like to find out more about me, please visit my website. I know how important it is for you to find the right therapist for your unique situation. Because of this, our initial consultation, usually by telephone, is free. This is a time for you to decide if we're the right fit. If we're not, I'll help find someone who is.
