My practice focuses on helping individuals, couples, and families who are suffering from emotional or physical pain or the aftereffects of trauma. We help them resolve the traumatic experience, as well as its consequences (e.g. physical pain, stress, disability, depression, anxiety, insomnia, medication dependence, isolation, etc.) Although many of our patients have not responded well to prior therapies, we've had outstanding success in helping them move from feeling a severe loss to finding a new and positive beginning. We love to work with people who are ready to change and eager to learn how to do it.
I am also a licensed, board-certified acupuncturist who has been practicing for nearly 40 years. As a result, I utilize a variety of non-drug treatment approaches, including Interactive Guided Imagery(sm), EMDR, mind/body medicine, hypnosis, biofeedback. nutritional supplements, homeopathy, herbs, acupuncture, and Chinese Medicine
I was Executive Director of the UCLA Pain Control Unit and a professor in the UCLA Medical, Dental Schools and Psychology Department. I'm well versed in both conventional and alternative medicine, served as a White House Commissioner, and received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Academy of Pain Management.

Emotional Housecleaning: Ending Bad Memories
Led by Dr. Bresler, this group is for those who have experienced physical or emotional trauma and who continue to have anxiety, fear, rage, depression, shame, guilt, and/or other negative emotional reactions to that experience. In addition to peer support, this group provides information concerning the most modern techniques and strategies for processing trauma, including EMDR, EFT, and Interactive Guided Imagery(sm). Non-Contingent Support Group
Led by Dr. Bresler, this group is for those who are in need of more emotional support in their lives. During the first 20 minutes, Dr. Bresler reviews various techniques to gain greater inner support by taming your Inner Critic and paying attention to your Inner Advisor. The remaining 70 minutes is for participants to share their current concerns and for group members who wish to provide supportive suggestions, information, experience, and encouragement without expecting anything in return except the satisfaction one gets from helping another in need.
