When I needed a Christian counselor, finding one that would endorse my Biblical values, hold me accountable, and show me grace was difficult. I come alongside you to help navigate emotions and situations and discover solutions that your future self will be thankful for. I have experience working with clients struggling with: parenting, family, marital, and relationship problems; depression; anxiety; grief and loss; trauma from combat and other line-of-duty experiences and physical and sexual abuse; addiction; Men's issues, and more.
I use Motivational Interviewing (MI) and tenets from Cognitive and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT/CBT). Once well-prepared, I can assist you in working through trauma where the struggles began finding resolution in the mind AND the gut (Heart) of the client through Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
Clients say they feel relieved, validated, understood, and safe knowing there is a plan that meets their specific needs. You will find freedom from judgment/criticism, and learn how God feels about you. I offer validation and accountability to thought/behavior patterns that aren't helpful as well as prayer and scripture basis for the counsel I provide.
