I am a "regular guy" kind of therapist--I don't usually wear a tie or speak in psychobabble. I bring 30 years of experience to each counseling relationship. I prefer to work without diagnoses, as I find most of them to be of little utility in guiding therapy. I would much rather work from a strengths-based perspective empowering my clients to make positive changes in their lives. I work especially well with physicians, executives, first responders, and other individuals who value their privacy and confidentiality. My treatment approach is typically short-term in duration, though I am willing to make the long journey when necessary.
I have had tremendous success in treating a variety of issues and symptoms including but not limited to: anxiety, OCD, PTSD, depression, substance use, medical illnesses (chronic pain, IBS, Chrohn's disease, etc.), sexual dysfunction, smoking cessation, insomnia & eating disorders. I also provide consultation/documentation for emotional support animals.
I specialize in hypnotherapy but don't be scared off by images of hypnotism you have seen on TV. You won't be clucking like a dog or barking like a chicken.
