Hi! My name is Dr. B; and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in California. My areas of focus are anxiety, depression, life transitions, stress, and trauma. My approach to therapy is very client-centered and collaborative with you, the client, because you are the expert in your life.
I got into mental health to provide representation in the Black community. A majority of my caseload is Black women and Black LGBTQ+ folks. I typically work with individuals from racially marginalized groups and communities impacted by oppression with a focus on how marginalization and oppression impact mental health.
My communication style is very conversational and collaborative. It is more about me asking you questions to help you lead yourself to answers and explore them. I am not here to tell you what to do but to support you. You help me identify the issues you would like to address, and we will create treatment goals together.
