My name is Daryl Simmons. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, offering (virtual) individual and family therapy in the Richmond and Tri-Cities area. I specialize in a variety of emotional and behavioral issues including generalized anxiety, depression, life transitions, family conflict, stress management, and performance or sports-related anxiety. I work primarily with Millennials, Gen-Z, and student/professional-athletes. I am passionate about reducing the stigma associated with mental health in the African-American community and creating spaces for intergenerational healing.
I believe in taking a collaborative approach to best assist clients in achieving their desired outcomes throughout the therapeutic process. Building a strong client relationship and creating a welcoming space for vulnerability and growth are fundamental components of my practice. My goal is to make clients feel as safe and comfortable as possible.
