About
I believe each and every person who walks through my door is unique with unique individual needs. I believe that it takes tremendous courage and strength to seek out counseling. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, Registered Play Therapist - Supervisor, and a Certified Trauma Specialist with the National Institute for Trauma and Loss with Children and Adolescents. I am also EMDR level 2 trained. I work with families and children ages 3-18 that have trauma in their history. I teach play therapy to other mental health professionals. I have been in the mental health field for 30 years.
My specialty is Play Therapy and trauma. I have presented around the state at professional conferences on trauma and play therapy. I sat on the Board of Directors for the Colorado Association for Play Therapy as President. I help parents understand the reactions to trauma. I also teach play therapy to other therapists.
My practice is unique in working with adoptive families to strengthen the bonds between their child/children and them. I do this by teaching parents how to therapeutically play with their child/children
