My clients are the experts on their own lives and that's important to me. I believe that the therapeutic journey is one that is better done as teamwork between therapist and client and that's what I strive for. Stylistically, I am a person-centered counselor who values the quality of the therapist-client relationship above all else. I incorporate humanistic, cognitive-behavioral, and other empirically based techniques and interventions that are individually tailored for each client. I received my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Buena Vista University, my JD from Drake University

The bulk of my work and experience is with trauma. Has someone ever told you that you "need to forget about" what happened to you? Or that you should "just move on" in your life? That may work in some situations, but one does not simply "move on" from trauma. A good therapist can help you!
