The teen and young adult years can feel stressful, isolating, and anxiety-provoking. It's the all-important stage of figuring out who you are, who you want to be, and how to get there. That’s huge! You need the support of adults who will listen, understand your perspective, and help you feel better. Maybe you have trouble getting out of bed? Maybe you need a more encouraging peer group, teachers who better understand what works for you, or parents who hear you? Whatever your individual challenges or goals may be, I'd love to help.
My own experiences as a misunderstood teen shaped my passion for helping young people feel heard, valued, and supported. I have dedicated my 30-year career to school aged youth and their families, ages 5-25, largely within the public school system. School-related problems are my specialty, although these are often related to other needs we can address, too.
I offer a safe, comfortable space and a friendly atmosphere. I love good humor! I am easy-going and non-judgmental, making it easier for us to build a trusting relationship. I will listen and empower you, rather than tell you what to do. If you love animals, I sometimes have therapy animals join our work together when appropriate.
