Darcie has longstanding interests in both the transformative power of illness and the connection between emotional health and physical well-being. Previously based in the San Francisco Bay Area, she now offers psychotherapy to California residents exclusively on the phone. This change allows many more people to take advantage of her services. This is especially helpful to the underserved Lyme Disease Community, including patients and their families. Because there is an ongoing scarcity of mental health practitioners who understand the disease process, patients often struggle to find a psychotherapist in their local community.

Other focus areas include: Self-esteem and Assertiveness, Speaking Fears, Work Addictions & Overachieving, Chronic & Difficult to Diagnose Illness, Clients Interfacing with the Legal System, Spirituality and Traumatic Neglect (The focus here is more on what was missing. Your experience was not reflected, your voice not heard, and your needs not validated.)

Darcie provides individual psychotherapy, facilitates groups, and offers clinical consultation and training to other therapists and family members. Her approach is pragmatic and will be tailored to your individual needs and goals. Darcie's style is warm, genuine, and engaged. Psychotherapy is offered by phone only for California residents.

Experience of Difficult to Diagnose Illness

The group will explore the experience of "living with" difficult to diagnose illness. It is appropriate for anyone who has struggled for an extended period of time with health issues, that have not been definitively diagnosed, were diagnosed, in error, as primarily psychiatric, or were diagnosed years after the person became ill. The group is designed to give participants a forum to explore some of the issues, common to this experience, that often leaves people feeling isolated and misunderstood.
