My hope is that all those seeking therapy find an excellent professional match. Those who might work best with me include those looking for a compassionate and active listener. A client seeking a warm and collaborative relationship with their therapist. A client who is attracted to a strengths-based approach to therapy. My name is Darcia Johnson and I'm a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. My approach is always client centered but I use modalities including Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy and I draw upon other modalities to best meet my client’s needs.
For nearly a decade I’ve worked with individuals and their families to address diagnoses including, but not limited to trauma, depression and anxiety related disorders. I have clinical experience working with individuals with functional impairments in the home, work and school settings.
All goal setting with be done in collaboration with my clients. My clients know what is best for them. I'm here to support their journey. Clients should expect a blend of providing therapist-relevant background information to best shape the overall treatment along with space and time to address the client's most pressing concerns.
